So I'm Signed Up, What Now?
Firstly, know that our students appreciate our volunteers! Now that you've become a Husky volunteer, it's time to try on a few different hats to find your perfect fit. Some of us find that one job and stick to it. Others like to keep moving. Either way, your commitment to advancing our band program goes a long way. Students get to see first hand what it means to make a commitment and stick with it. We as volunteers serve to complete a task; we also set examples. That means we have some big shoes to fill. Yes, it's normal to feel a little apprehensive, too busy even. Know that we've all been there, and, yes, you can do this!
Parent Volunteers can assist the HHS Marching Band at home football games, marching band competitions, and special events throughout the year. A brief explanation of each type is given below.

Marching Husky Football Games
Football Game Volunteers are asked to report to the HHS band room no later than 5:45 p.m. when possible. Around this time the volunteer coordinator will lead a five-minute huddle to discuss strategy. If you cannot arrive in time for the huddle, please sign up anyway and leave a comment as to your availability. At the very least, jump in and assist when and where you see a need! A limited number of Volunteer Passes are first given to Drivers, Pit and Props Crew then Chaperones. You must be signed-up in order to be eligible for a pass, but be prepared to pay for entry should volunteers outnumber the available
Marching Band Competitions
Marching Competition Volunteers are asked to report to the HHS band room. Specific jobs and report times are noted on the sign up sheet when you volunteer. A large portion of competition work is loading/unloading instruments and props for travel. We also help transport instruments and props to/from staging areas to the competition field. At least one competition each year involves an overnight stay. A limited number of Volunteer Wrist passes are first given to Drivers, Pit and Props Crew then Chaperones. You must be signed-up in order to be eligible for a pass, but be prepared to pay for entry should volunteers outnumber the available passes.
Special Events Volunteers typically handle the same responsibilities listed for competitions when the event requires travel. Specific duties are listed on that event's specific sign up sheet along with report times and meet up locations. In regards to social events, a member of the Marching Huskies Social Committee will provide details that become available beyond the information listed on the opportunity sign up page.
